Child Rehabilitation Service

The “Parent-Child Together” Children’s Training Programme is a comprehensive rehabilitation training programme for preschoolers and students of age 2-9 with special learning needs and their families. Professional social workers, occupational therapists, speech therapists and special child care workers work together to develop tailored intervention and training plans for children to enhance their learning and development. When necessary, professionals from various fields, such as counselling psychologists, expressive arts therapists and psychiatrists, will be arranged to provide appropriate support to children and their families in need.

The goal of the programme is to work with parents to become close partners and provide early intervention services to children suspected or diagnosed with special needs, to help children overcome obstacles and realise their potential. This programme also provides diversified services, including parent-child activities, parent workshops and individual counselling, to help parents or caregivers understand and accept their children’s needs from different aspects, and to strengthen their parenting and training skills.

Special Education
Our special education services are coordinated and provided by registered special child care workers who develop and arrange individualized training services. We conduct comprehensive developmental assessments for children, utilizing professional expertise in special education to design teaching materials and activities. This enables children to build knowledge and skills across different domains during their training, fostering their internalization abilities and cultivating a positive, self-directed learning attitude.

Case Counselling
Our professional social workers provide personalised case counselling while helping parents and caregivers understand their children’s psychological and social development. We guide families in developing effective parenting strategies and fostering positive parent-child relationships.

Occupational Therapy
Our registered occupational therapists develop individualized training goals through comprehensive assessments. Our services include sensory integration therapy, visual perception training, muscle function training, fine motor skills development, handwriting assessment and training, executive function training, self-care and domestic skills training and community adaptation skills. These therapeutic interventions aim to enhance children’s daily living functions and help them better integrate into the community.

Speech Therapy
Our registered speech therapists conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s communication abilities, including language development and pronunciation. We provide specialized training for children experiencing speech delays, focusing on improving their verbal expression, social communication, and oral motor skills. Training programmes are individually tailored based on each child’s specific needs and stage of language development. Our therapeutic approach aims to enhance both receptive and expressive language abilities, ensuring each child develops effective communication skills.
